In the Womb
A title like this would typically involve a description of motherhood, sweet babies, and the beginning of life.
Well, not this time.
Believe it or not, I got the idea of doing this liquid acrylic abstract while watching, "Mad Max -- Fury Road."
I won't tell you what happens in the movie, but it does involve babies in the womb, and that's all I'm saying.
I'm not a disturbed person. Really. I just got this image in my head after watching that movie and I had to get into the art studio to make it before I completely forgot about it.
Liquid acrylic art is fast (and furious). You have to have a pretty good idea on how you want to maneuver the canvas to make the image you want, or else the acrylic paint, in tandem with the mix of matte medium, will start to slow down and eventually come to a complete halt on the canvas. This--at least to me--ruins the entire flow of the piece.
"In the Womb" is a 20" x 16" 1" profile liquid acrylic abstract with colors of blue, silver, grey, black and white. It's finished with a high gloss varnish and is ready to hang.
Now go watch the movie and tell me I'm not nuts.
