Tea Time Assemblage Art
What a unique and beautiful gift to give to that special someone who loves tea!
The box is from an early 1900's mantle clock. I used the inner parts for another piece. But, now I was left with a huge hole in the back. What to do...
I had a round piece of mirror that fit perfectly and made it the ultimate backdrop for my assemblage, Tea Time.
The porcelain mini tea set is the real deal. I'm not sure what year, but with the detail involved, I would venture to guess 1920's. A stainless steel tray serves up the teapot to the waiting guests; A set of triplets. Each perched in their own happy place waiting for tea to be served. One of the young girls is seated inside a vintage brass tea basket (this is pre-teabag mesh holders, folks). It's hung on a small hook that can be slightly turned.
You'll notice a vintage broach embellishment, as well as a porcelain oval wall hanging.
Paper assemblage and antique lace grace the lining of the clock case, along with a mini string of pearls to frame it off. The piece is painted a pale pink and lightly sanded for distressing. It's topped off with a matte coat of varnish.
I envy the person who gets this one!
