Winding Up (SOLD)
Details: 20" x 24" canvas with a 1" profile using colors, black, deep purple, lavender, red/orange, and small streaks of white.
Back Story: It's baseball season. I won't say what team I have been faithful to for a number of years, and the colors definitely won't give that away.
However, the position of being a pitcher is the guts and glory of the game. Visualize yourself as a baseball. (I know this may be hard for some people, but if you've ever been skydiving you'll know exactly what I'm talking about)_. You're flying through the air at supersonic speed. In those split seconds, you see the colors around you as you spin out of the pitcher's hands.
It all becomes a blur except for the colors; they are so vivid and mesmerizing you forget for a split second whether you'll land in the safety of a soft leather chair or get your face smashed in with a wooden bat.
It's a grand slam.
This abstract painting was painted with a palette knife using acrylic paints. The sides are painted black and the finish is a semi-gloss varnish.
Ready to hang with wire hardware.
